Reverie reads the music in your Apple Music library on this device. Make sure you’ve granted access when prompted, or enable it in Settings → Reverie → Media & Apple Music. Songs need to be downloaded to your device to be analyzed and played.
Each song is placed on a grid by valence (left = melancholic, right = happy) and energy (bottom = calm, top = energetic). Tap anywhere on the grid to play songs that match that mood.
Reverie analyzes audio on-device to place songs on the grid. Analysis runs automatically in the background and can continue while the app is closed. You can check progress in the app.
An optional feature that shows how many other people are listening to the same song. It’s off by default. When enabled, Reverie only sends a one-way cryptographic hash of the song — never your name, Apple ID, or actual listening history. You can turn it off anytime in Settings.
Lyrics are fetched from LRCLIB, a free, open-source lyrics database. Only the song title and artist are sent to look them up.
Tips are one-time purchases. You can tip as often as you like, but you’re only charged when you choose to tip. Tips unlock no paid features — they simply support development.
If another audio app loaded first in CarPlay, Reverie won’t override it automatically. Open Reverie from the CarPlay screen and press play.
Reverie is built privacy-first — your music and listening habits stay on your device. Read the full Privacy Policy.
